The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is undoubtedly one of the greatest movie franchises of all time, garnering hundreds of millions of fans around the world. But casual viewers and movie critics alike have long debated over the rankings of these movies, never seeming to come to a consensus. Here at StreamLocator, we love these movies, and decided to try our hand at ordering these movies. Scroll down to the bottom for our detailed description of how you can watch these movies, no matter what country you're in!
Benedict Cumberbatch's MCU debut film resonated with audiences for its creative directing and mind-twisting CGI. It was applauded for the visual freshness it brought to the franchise as a whole, but critiqued for being formulaic and forgettable.
The original Iron Man will always hold a special place in the heart of audiences for bringing us all Marvel's most iconic film character to date: Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of Tony Stark. It was also the movie responsible for catapulting the entire MCU into what it is today, bringing the movie studio back from the brink of death.
Tom Holland is by far the best actor to ever play the role of Spiderman (sorry Toby fans!) His youthful appearance and awkward energy are true to the soul of what Spiderman should be like, and the great directing and heartwarming story telling in this movie bring it all together.
Although this movie's deviation from the comics left some of us disappointed, the sheer awesomeness of the crossover between characters makes up for it in spades. The airport fight scene left audiences giddy, the introduction of Spiderman was long overdue, and the emotional climax between Captain America and Iron Man was iconic.
Black Panther is a cultural masterpiece, bringing to life the amazing and vibrant city of Wakanda in a way that transported audiences. The directing was top notch, the story was unique and conflicting, and of course, the social significance of a movie like this cannot be ignored.
Marvel really took their scriptwriting to a new level with this installation in the "Thor" series, leaving behind awkward and formal dialogue. Thor was transformed into a confident, witty, funny, and relatable character, not to mention the great and memorable side characters! Overall, this movie ushered us into a new era of Marvel scriptwriting, and set the stage for the next movie on our list.
What's not to love about this movie? Relatable characters, gorgeous cinematography, amazing directing, and some of the funniest scriptwriting Marvel had to offer. Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2 delivered everything the first movie did, and then some.
Following up on the hype of Avengers: Infinity War was no easy task for Marvel, but they did a great job delivering. Although some people took issue with the way this movie handled Thanos, the storyline was still emotional and filled with tense moments. It also forced audiences to say goodbye to many of our most treasured characters, and handled their departures with elegance. If you haven't seen this movie yet, it's a must-watch.
Our first introduction to the Avengers on the big screen was a sweet one. Despite showing its age compared to some of the other movies on this list, it still stands its ground as one of the best MCU movies ever made. The way all of the characters came together, their different personalities clashing, created a hilarious and memorable experience. And for its time, this movie redefined the Superhero Movie genre, normalizing group movies and leading to lots of copycats. All in all, this movie was a cheesy, lovable work of art, and an epic viewing experience for audiences.
This movie was, in no uncertain words, a cinematic masterpiece. It's important to realize something: despite the title, this wasn't an Avengers movie - it was Thanos' movie. Throughout the whole film, it felt like the stakes just got higher and higher as Thanos collected his stones. Despite our heros' best efforts, defeat was, as Thanos put it, "inevitable." The directing was top notch, and despite simultaneously running three storylines at once, the pacing never felt off. It was beautifully done, and the ending was one of the most memorable endings in recent mainstream movie history.
